The Download Section can be used to post small (max 100MB) mods, tools and resources for the Total War games, or for use elsewhere on TWC. The most active modding area is the one for Medieval II: Total War, despite being an older game the ability to create 'Total Conversions' by radically changing the campaign map has maintained modders' interest in the title. TWC covers all the Total War Series games from the original year 2000 Shogun: Total War to the present day. Subsequently, Garbarsardar purchased the site from imb39 in 2008, and the current owner GrnEyedDvl, purchased the site in 2011. A series of events culminated in the site being sold by Ogres Net in early 2007 and purchased by imb39. This caused some conflict with Ogres Net, the then owners of the site. The site attempted a more democratic style of management than most forums, featuring a system of Citizenship and community involvement via the Curia. A short-lived (and illegal) hosting of some of the "Time Commanders" videos featuring the RTW engine brought more attention and members. When the domain closed in 2003 the site's founders moved to and adopted the name Total War Centre (note English spelling of name!).
